Remembering John Herman Cass, Jr.

Posted by admin on March 26, 2015 in News

Today we remember John Herman Cass, Jr., former President of Cass Jewelers who peacefully passed away yesterday at the age of 84. John moved to Greensboro in 1948 and graduated from Greensboro High School – whereas afterwards he served in the United States Coast Guard. He then attended High Point College where he played basketball on a scholarship.

After working for S.T. Wyrick Office Supply, John joined his father in the family business, Cass Jewelers Inc. in 1963. He was a member of the Independent Jewelers Association, the Gemological Institute of America, as well as the President of Cass Jewelers. John was a Greensboro businessman, who enjoyed many opportunities within the community. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and even ballroom dancing. However, what he enjoyed most was relaxing at his vacation home in West Jefferson.

We are posting a link to his guestbook page at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home for those who wish to pay their respects, which you may visit here:
